Meditation Workshop for Self-Care and Resilience
    April 22 | 12:00–1:00 PM
    Burgess Room (BAL 9024)

Feeling overwhelmed professionally, personally, or politically? The UWC invites you to an interactive workshop on meditation as a mindfulness practice for navigating turbulent times.

Led by Dr. Nicole Willock, Professor and Chair of Philosophy & Religious Studies, the session will begin with a brief overview of diverse approaches to self-care and contemplative practices that foster resilience. Dr. Willock will then guide participants through a 20–30-minute meditation practice, followed by a reflective debrief and discussion.

The University Women's Caucus, formed in 1974, is an organization of women whose concerns include actively advancing the welfare of women throughout Old Dominion University.  Specifically, the caucus aids affirmative-action efforts to recruit and retain women and lobbies for equal treatment in salary, rank, tenure, promotion, research leave, and responsibilities.  The caucus sponsors workshops and presentations on a wide variety of topics for personal and professional development and provides a forum to discuss policies and decisions affecting women on campus.
